Rumors Parties Presents: Afterlife

Keep your plans for Halloween night, but consider topping off your evening at Nickel City or Boiled Owl with an immersive medieval-themed afterparty featuring free drinks, a hoppin’ dance floor, and the chance to sport your best costume yet.

“We want people to feel free to enjoy their Halloween evening and when they’re ready, come on by,” said the Rumors co-founder/janitor. “We’ll be open well past 2 a.m. We want people to dress however they want.”

The event dubbed Afterlife kicks off at 10 p.m. at Southside Preservation Hall’s Chapel — the same hallowed grounds that launched Rumors’ Valentine’s Day shindig. There will be music this time as well but at a tamer conversation-friendly level. Expect house, er, castle party vibes. The booze comes via Acre Distilling and there will be ample bottles of vino, thanks to a sponsorship by Piattelli Vineyards.

There will be special surprises throughout the evening, added the other co-founder.

When Panther City Social first chatted up the co-founders in April, they had big plans for a city that, as amazing as it is, often leans heavily on bars for socializing. Now, the vision for Rumors is clear: Plan regular house music DJ shows in fun and unique settings while executing a handful of large interactive events throughout the year.

The next electronic dance party is scheduled for November. The duo said Panther City is eager for more DJ-led shows. The co-founders are making connections with popular North Texas turntable virtuosos in a bid to bring back some of that *wiki wiki* magic, but in a Rumorseque (read: immersive and experiential) setting.

In short, they said, expect more and bigger parties.
