Panther City Pass Spotlight: Blackland Distillery

Courtesy Blackland Distillery

Espresso martini fans take note. Blackland Distillery’s newest whiskey makes for an easy caffeinated ’tini. For a standard cocktail pour, that’s two ounces of booze for every ounce of espresso — preferably shaken, not stirred. The cocktail’s pecan, coffee, and brown sugar notes are a delight.

Served neat, the liquor is mildly sweet without being cloying. With a shot of espresso (depending on what bean and roast you go with), the java notes come to the fore with deliciously smooth results. Hundreds of folks (myself included) attended Blackland’s 5th anniversary and got an early taste of Texpresso Whiskey. The overlap between Texpresso Whiskey’s flavor and the uber-popular Texas Pecan Brown Sugar Bourbon isn’t by accident. The distillery remains focused on flavored whiskeys that can be enjoyed straight or mixed into a cocktail.

Kypreos said the new release builds on the popularity of Texas Pecan Brown Sugar Bourbon and will “become a staple in every whiskey-lovers’ collection.”

Blackland is growing Texas’ reputation for exceptional spirits. Located in the Foundry District, this distillery employs cutting-edge technology from Amsterdam and continually expands its distilling and barrel-aging capabilities to meet growing demand.

Blackland also hosts unforgettable events. Its newly expanded event space provides the perfect setting for wedding receptions, corporate gatherings, or intimate get-togethers.

Panther City Pass is proud to feature Blackland Distillery in our 2024 Cocktail Guide.
