Visit Fort Worth Announces Film & Music Leadership
The local film industry has seen notable growth in recent years and months. TCC recently launched a new program to train locals for careers in film. Years of work by the Fort Worth Film Commission have paid off now that recent and ongoing shows and movies — including 1883, Lawmen: Bass Reeves, Lioness, and Landman — are turning Fort Worth into a destination for film production.
Visit Fort Worth is doubling down on its commitment to supporting film and music by appointing Tom Martens as vice president of creative, film, and music, with Taylor Hardy as the new film commissioner. Longtime film commissioner Jessica Hill recently stepped down to pursue new career options outside of film.
Martens will oversee branding and design while supporting local musicians and the Fort Worth Film Commission. Hardy, who has been with the organization for nine years, will attract film productions and foster community engagement. This initiative aims to bolster Fort Worth's economy, highlighting the city's significant contributions from film production and music events.
“Tom and Taylor will accelerate our efforts to grow music and film in Fort Worth. They each have a strong record of innovation and supporting these important areas of our economy,” said Mitch Whitten, chief operating officer of Visit Fort Worth. “We are excited about what they will do next.”
