Lil’ Star Cafe Brings Gourmet Burgers to Rusty Nickel Icehouse

Chef Victor Villarreal hinted at plans to expand the menu soon. 

Don’t sleep on Lil’ Star Cafe, the new food trailer at Rusty Nickel Icehouse (2836 Stanley Ave), open on Saturdays and Sundays. The menu boasts favorites like the Star Burger, Rusty Nickel Burger (loaded with pimento cheese and bacon), fried pickle and pimento sandwich, Frito pie, and a variety of sandwiches and sides. We tried the Lil’ Double Star — two juicy patties stacked with grilled jalapeños, onions, and thick-cut bacon.  The double patty burger took two hands to maneuver and was packed with savory, satisfying flavors. Chef Victor Villarreal hinted at plans to expand the menu soon.
