First Draught: Three Wide Brewing Co.

Three Wide Brewing Co. is massive, with two floors, outdoor seating, a long tapwall, and dozens of large tables. Most of the 20 beers on tap that day defied convention. The Symposia (a sangria lager) had a lovely ruby color and a light, citrusy, and, hoppy profile.

The Green Tea Wheat was juicy with mild bitter notes of tea. Darker and oaky, the J’ai Du Bois earned extra points for the name that *chuckles* translates to “I have wood.” I rounded off my flight with Heart of Glass, a dark and roast-y brown ale. All of the brews were standouts and memorable.

The brewpub staples on the food menu include Neapolitan-style pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, chicken tenders, and pretzels. I sprung for the Three Wide Burger, which came served with a side of hefty chips. The burger (steak beef patty, veggies, mayo, cheddar cheese, barbecue sauce) was dense, juicy, and delicious.

The beer selection has me hooked. I’ll be back. Rapper J/O/E (aka brewed-up Joe) recommended the place when we were making promotional photos for our cocktail guide. Joe said he found the beers to be exceptional while the building had a nice sports bar feel. He is right about this newcomer brewery hoppin’ up Fort Worth’s North Side.

While you are on the north end of Panther City, save time to hit up Kava Culture Kava Bar, a great bar that serves adult beverages made with botanicals and zero alcohol.
